Do you do gift vouchers?

Yes we do. You can choose for the voucher to be for an amount or for a treatment. Please contact us for further details.

What is a patch test?

With certain beauty products, eg eyelash tints, you must have a patch test 24 hours prior to your treatment - we will advise you of this when you book. It is rare for a reaction to occur with the vast majority of our products, but if you are worried you may be allergic to any other products/ingredients we can always arrange a patch test in advance to put your mind at rest.

What is "airbrush" make-up?

Airbrush make-up is the make-up of choice for make-up artists working in HD and close-up photography.  Silicone-based foundations, blushers and bronzers are applied using an airbrush, meaning that the make up is distributed really, really finely on the face.  The result is flawless coverage that feels really light and looks great in photos!

Spray Tanning

How does it work?

We use an airbrush tanning machine to spray you with beautiful, natural looking tan. What you'll see immediately is a guide colour tan which will be darker than the final result. You then need to wait at least eight hours for the tan to develop. Most clients have their spray tan done in the evening, then sleep in it. When the eight hours is up you gently shower off the guide colour and are left with gorgeous, tanned skin. Full details of pre and post tan skincare will be given to you when you book.

Spray tanning in my home?

Yes! But don't worry, you'll be sprayed in a special tent so there'll be no mess.

Which tan do you use?

We use Sienna X tan because we believe it to be the best in the market.  It's available in a range of tones to suit even the palest skin.

Will I go orange?

Not at all. Our tan gives a beautiful, natural colour, however light or deep you want it to be. We will discuss your requirements with you before your treatment so you get the perfect tan to suit your natural skintone, and the depth of colour you want.

Do I have to get naked?

Only if you want to! The beauty of spray tanning as opposed to sunbathing is not only is there no damage or ageing of your skin, but - if you want - no tan lines! We do supply disposable underwear if you would like to use it, or some clients wear their own. Any tan that gets on your underwear will wash out, but we wouldn't recommend wearing your best!

How long will the tan last?

Everyone is different and the longevity of your tan will depend on your skin and how you prepare for and look after your tan once it's done. Follow the advice given when you book your tan and it could last anywhere up to a week, gradually fading away.

Will the hair be gone forever?

No - waxing is a temporary method of hair removal. However because the hair is removed from the root it takes longer to grow back. Some people say that their hair grows back finer or more sparsely after repeated waxing. Certainly the hair will feel softer, rather than stubbly, when it grows back - unlike shaving.

I usually shave - can I be waxed?

Yes, providing the hair is long enough. Your hair ideally needs to be at least 5mm long. If it's too short the wax can't grip it so the hair will not be pulled out.

Does it hurt?

It's not painless exactly, but if it was agony millions of people all over the world wouldn't do it! You'll find that some areas of your body are more sensitive than others, but everyone's different. Some women find that certain times of the month make waxing more uncomfortable than usual. We will do everything possible during your treatment to make the experience as comfortable as possible.

What is a Brazilian/Hollywood?

A Brazilian wax is an "intimate" bikini wax where all hair is removed except for a narrow "landing strip" at the front. A Hollywood is where all hair is removed from the entire bikini area.

What is a Vajazzle?

A 'Vajazzle' is when you have a Brazilian or Hollywood wax, followed by Swarovski crystals applied to the area just below your knicker-line. These can be arranged in any design you like.  Popular choices are hearts, stars and initials.  We advise that a Vajazzle is done on the day it is to be 'viewed' ;)  It is a temporary effect and the adhesive used is similar to the glue used to apply strip false eyelashes, so the crystals are easy to remove when the fun's over!

Shellac nails

What is Shellac?

Shellac by CND is the key to a long lasting manicure!  It combines the best bits of traditional nail polish and gel.  This means glossy, long-lasting colour with no damage to your natural nails!

Can Shellac make my nails longer?

Shellac is not used to add length to your nails in the same way that acryllic would be.  However some clients find that they do add some strength to their natural nails which helps them grow, however this is not a claim made by us or CND, the manufacturer of Shellac.

How long will it last?

If you look after them your Shellac nails can last up to 14 days - perfect if you're going on holiday or if you find it hard to get "normal" polish to last.  The shine lasts too!  But this means giving them the same TLC you'd give a normal manicure, eg wearing gloves when washing up (or getting someone else to do it!) and not using your nails as tools to open cans of drink etc.

Will I need infills? Do they come off easily?

Forget about the hassle of infills - Shellac and polishes soak off your nails in around 10 minutes, with no damage to your natural nail.  We can come and do it for you, or you can buy a removal kit when you have your nails done.  However most clients go for a re-paint, which has no charge for removal of the old Shellac.  For more details please visit our Shellac Nails page.
